FOOD AT THE FESTIVAL … A TASTE OF IRELAND’S ANCIENT EAST
Food at the 2017 Festival will be simply fabulous. Visit A Taste of Ireland’s Ancient East at the Irish Maritime Festival to experience some of the finest foods that the region has to offer. Open from 11.00am to 6.00pm Saturday and Sunday, the display of food, tastings and demos will whet the appetite of any foodie.
Meet TV chef Tara Walker and let her tell you about the local ingredients that she loves to cook with. Sit back, relax and enjoy our chefs creating fabulous recipes and sharing their top tips.
Enjoy tastings with local food producers or purchase tempting treats to enjoy at home.
From home-baking to a handmade chutneys and Indian samosas to gourmet sausages, whatever your taste there’s something you’ll love. If you’ve a sweet tooth, watch out for local fudge, honey, brownies and cookies.
And don’t forget local drinks too … try an artisan cider, craft beer, local whiskey and small batch distilled gin. Be one of the first to sample the new triple-casked Slane Irish Whiskey or learn about how you can craft your own unique bespoke bottle of gin at Listoke Gin School.
