Brilliant Opportunity for Business

Irish Maritime Festival provides marketing opportunity for local companies.

Being part of the Irish Maritime Festival in 2014 was great for Kirwan’s Fish Cart. With over 35,000 people passing through the Festival in just 3 days, it was a great opportunity to connect with our customers and meet new customers.” so said local businessman Patrick Kirwan of Kirwan’s Fish Cart. “We kept our offering simple – our award winning seafood chowder and our deliciously moreish seafood skewers went down a treat. We’re really looking forward to taking part this year.

With just one month to go to The Irish Maritime Festival at Drogheda Port, local companies are invited to get involved and to use the opportunity to promote their business. “Over 40,000 visitors are expected at the Festival this year. As local business owners it is incumbent on us to take this opportunity and use it to our advantage. It’s a brilliant marketing opportunity and we are encouraging local companies to make it their own.” explained Simon McCormack, President of Drogheda & District Chamber.

We’ve opportunities for companies of all sizes both at the Port and in the heart of the town. If you are trading at the Festival the key is to be interactive – to get into the Maritime theme and get people queuing up at your stall to buy from you.” explained event organiser Karen Healy. “As with any Festival, food companies do well because people love tasting new things and eating freshly cooked foods outdoors. But Patrick from Kirwan’s Fish Cart is right – keep your offering simple and do it well.”

Other opportunities for business include being listed in the 20,000 event brochures. “Our Festival map of Drogheda will highlight Maritime menus in local cafes and restaurants, live music and entertainment in local venues and any other activities that visitors to the town might find fun. The Irish Maritime Festival in association with Maxol is our opportunity to show off what an amazing town Drogheda really is and we look forward to doing just that.” concluded Karen.
